ITALY v URUGUAY BETTING PREVIEW
Italy enter this match on the back of a comfortable success in a friendly match against San Marino on May 31, as they hammered the minnow 8-0. The Azzurri are unbeaten in eight matches ahead of this friendly - winning six of them - and are fighting with Spain to secure the first place in their World Cup qualifying group. Italy have not a good tradition in International Friendlies and this could result in a major upset. The Juventus players that were involved in the Champions League final have joined up with the Italy squad ahead of this match but they are all expected to be rested. This means that a number of young players - such as Atalanta's trio Mattia Caldara, Leonardo Spinazzola and Andrea Conti - will feature from the off. Gianluigi Donnarumma is likely to start between the posts, while Daniele De Rossi and Riccardo Montolivo are likely to play in the middle of the park, since Marco Verratti is a major doubt. Up front, Andrea Belotti should be flanked by Lorenzo Insigne and Eder.
Uruguay arrive in Nice having played the Republic of Ireland in a Dublin friendly match few days ago. La Celeste are on a 4 match winless streak and have conceded 12 goals during this run. They currently sit third in the CONMEBOL qualifying group and with four direct places up for grabs, Oscar Tabarez's men are in good position to qualifiy automatically for thwe next World Cup in Russia.
Edinson Cavani was forced off 13 minutes into Uruguay's 3-1 defeat and isn't expected to recover in time to feature here. Tabarez also is without injured skipper Diego Godin and Hull City striker Abel Hernandez. Middlesbrough’s Crhistian Stuani was included in the party but his clubmate Gaston Ramirez has been overlooked. Serie A-based duo Matias Vecino and Diego Laxalt should start in midfield. Luis Suarez should not be involved from the off.
