Leicester vs Chelsea Betting Preview
Leicester sit in 12th position in the domestic table with a W4 D3 L4 record. The Foxes recorded two consecutive 1-1 draws before the international break - at home against Spartak Moscow in Europa League and away at Leeds in the Premier League. They seem to have struggled to cope with their added European commitments this year, although a quality summer transfer campaign. Anyway, in recent weeks, Brendan Rodgers' men have proved they can be tough to break down, with only Arsenal getting the better of them in their last six top flight outings.
Chelsea have had a fine season so far with only one league defeat. The Blues are top of the table and have opened up a three-point gap over their closest chasers despite managing to earn just a draw at home against Burnley (1-1) before the break. That result ended an impressive 7-match winning streak in all competitions. The goal scored by Matej Vydra was only the fourth conceded by the best defense in the league. The Blues lost 2-0 at the King Power in this fixture last term during the final days of Frank Lampard's reign, but Tuchel's Chelsea claimed a 2-1 win over the Foxes at Stamford Bridge back in May.
Best Odds
Chelsea are 4/5 to win with William Hill. The home win is backable at 4/1 with BetVictor while the best price for the draw is 14/5 with Betsafe.Anyway, 888sport are offering 22/1 for Leicester to win and 9/1 for Chelsea to win.
Probable Line-Ups
Leicester (4-3-2-1): Schmeichel; Castagne, Evans, Soyuncu, Pereira; Ndidi, Tielemans, Soumare, Lookman, Barnes; Vardy
It is uncertain whether Youri Tielemans will be fit for the Foxes after going off with a calf injury after the match against Leeds before the international break. Wesley Fofana and Ryan Bertrand are also set to remain sidelined, meaning that Jonny Evans and Ricardo Pereira will feature from the off at centre back and right back respectively. Up front, the likes of Harvey Barnes and Ademola Lookman are expected to support the lone striker Jamie Vardy with James Maddison, Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho providing further offensive options.
Chelsea (3-4-2-1): Mendy; Thiago Silva, Rudiger, Christensen; Chilwell, Kante, Jorginho, James; Mount, Havertz; Lukaku
Romelu Lukaku may well be in line for a return at Leicester after recovering from an ankle injury. Mason Mount also is in contention to return after a couple of weeks out through injury. Kai Havertz is favourite over Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi for the remaining starting berth up front. With Marcos Alonso recently resuming training, the likes of Ben Chilwell and Reece James should start as wing backs. Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva and Andreas Christensen are likely to form the three man backline.
Our Leicester vs Chelsea Predictions
Chelsea have emerged winners in their last three games on the travel in the Premier League this season without shipping a single goal and have conceded just once away from Stamford Bridge across the campaign so far. Leicester have been too inconsistent this season and have been unable to keep the back door shut at home in recent weeks. We do not expect a high-scoring game, so we back Chelsea to win 1-0. The deciding goal could be scored on a set piece, so watch out for Thiago Silva and Rudiger in the anytime goalscorer market.
