Spanish goalkeeper Adrian, signed on a free transfer last week, is now certain to deputise for Alisson as the Brazilian has been ruled for a number of weeks with a calf injury sustained last Friday. The front line will see the return of Sadio Manè from the off. Anyway, Divock Origi is expected to retain his starting berth, with Roberto Firmino likely to be benched Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, Joel Matip and James Milner are among those pushing for starts in midweek while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson are expected to keep their spots in the back four. Nathaniel Clyne is not expected to return from a cruciate ligament injury until next year.
N’Golo Kante, Willian and Christian Pulisic could all be in contention after being omitted from the starting line-up at Old Trafford while Olivier Giroud could get the nod ahead of Tammy Abraham up front. Ross Barkley and Mason Mount are in contention for a starting berth in the offensive midfield trio. Antonio Rudiger remains a major doubt ahead of this one with a knee issue, while Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all certain to miss out for quite some time.

Liverpool v Chelsea Betting Preview
Liverpool have won only one of their last six meetings with Chelsea
Although the scoreline was emphatic, Liverpool were not completely convincing in the 4-1 win over Norwich on their Premier League opening match. A hat-trick of losses to Napoli, Sevilla and Klopp's old team Borussia Dortmund in the pre-season was also worrying as well as a penlaty shootout loss to Manchester City in the Community Shield earlier this month. The Reds won the previous clash with Chelsea with the scoreline of 2-0 but it was their only success in the last six direct encounters.Spanish goalkeeper Adrian, signed on a free transfer last week, is now certain to deputise for Alisson as the Brazilian has been ruled for a number of weeks with a calf injury sustained last Friday. The front line will see the return of Sadio Manè from the off. Chelsea had two days’ less rest than Liverpool heading into the Super Cup
Frank Lampard’s start to life as Chelsea manager could not have gone any worse, overseeing 4-0 defeat to Manchester UTD at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. Anyway, the Blues were far from as bad as the scoreline suggests, hitting the woodwork twice before half time, missing some presentable opportunities while making a number of basic errors at the back. They had two days fewer recovery for this match so there could be a physical handicap for the Londoners. Chelsea had gone through pre-season unbeaten prior to the loss at Old Trafford as Lampard's men have enjoyed an entertaining summer as they beat Barcelona (2-1), Reading (4-3) and Salzburg (5-3), while their final clash saw them play out a 2-2 draw with Borussia M’gladbach..N’Golo Kante, Willian and Christian Pulisic could all be in contention after being omitted from the starting line-up at Old Trafford while Olivier Giroud could get the nod ahead of Tammy Abraham up front.
