MANCHESTER CITY vs WEST HAM BETTING PREVIEW
Manchester City are top of the table by eight points, with a record 13 wins out of 14 and a goal difference of +35. Back-to-back 2-1 wins against Huddersfield and Southampton - courtesy of last-gasp goals - have kept City’s incredible run of 19 consecutive victories alive. Guardiola's men have dropped points in only one of their 14 league games this season and have a 100% winning record in Champions League so far. Anyway, the Citizens don’t seem to be as prolific as they were at the very start of the season. In terms of direct encounters, Man City have won 8 of their last 9 home matches against West Ham in all competitions.
Leroy Sane missed the 2-1 victory over Southampton due to illness but is expected to feature from the off, completing a front trio where Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero are in contention for the central spot. Raheem Sterling or Bernardo Silva will occupy the remaining berth. David Silva only played 16 minutes as a substitute on Wednesday night and is expected to return in central midfield. Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho are also one yellow card away from a ban and next up there is the Manchester Derby, so Eliaquim Mangala and Ilkay Gundogan may be handed starts. John Stones remains out, while Benjamin Mendy is a long-term absentee.
West Ham were awful in the 4-0 thrashing at Everton in midweek. The change on the bench did not bring the wanted result as they still lie in 18th spot in the league table - just two points off safety - with a D3 L4 record in the last 7 Premier League fixtures. The Hammers have scored just four goals in their last six league outings and their -18 goal difference is the worst in the division. Plus, they have the worst defensive record away from home in the Premier League this season. West Ham have lost four on the bounce against Man City conceding an impressive tally of 15 goals along the way.
David Moyes will be without Joe Hart for the trip to Manchester City, with the goalkeeper ineligible to face his parent club. So, Adrian expected to start between the sticks for the visitors. Winston Reid is a doubt and could be replaced by Declan Rice at the hearth of the back. Up front, Michail Antonio and Marko Arnautovic may both feature from the off in a 4-1-4-1 system. Andrè Ayew or Diafra Sakho should lead the line given that Chicharito Hernandez and Andy Carroll are both out through injury. James Collins and Sam Byram remain out, while Jose Fonte is a long-term absentee.
