MIDDLESBROUGH v ARSENAL BETTING PREVIEW

Middlesbrough have not won a single league match since the middle of December, a run stretching 14 games, and they have not recored a victory all season against a club currently 15th or higher in the table. Anyway, they still
are six points from safety with two games in hand. Boro are the lowest scoring side in the Premier League with just 22 goals. They held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw when the two teams met at the Emirates Stadium in October.

Head coach Steve Agnew has a fully fit squad but he will be without Calum Chambers as he is ineligible to face his parent club. George Friend, Fabio and Gaston Ramirez are not 100% fit and could be all rested. Bernardo Espinosa, Ben Gibson and Daniel Ayala may all line up in central defence once again while Alvaro Negredo and Rudy Gestede are expected to spearhead the attack in a 3-5-2 starting system. Cristhian Stuani and Adama Traore provide alternative options in attack while the likes of Antonio Barragan and Stewart Downing could continue in the wing-back positions.

Arsenal enter this match having recorded just two wins from their previous 7 Premier League fixtures, a run that included four defeats including reversals to Watford and West Brom. The Gunners have lost each of their last four road trips, most recently away at Crystal Palace (3-0) last Monday night. As consequence, they find themselves 10 points adrift of the top four after Man City's success against Southampton on Saturday.  Dropped points here would arguably kill off any hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

David Ospina and Lucas Perez remain out, but Petr Cech and Laurent Koscielny could return, replacing Emiliano Martinez in goal and Gabriel Paulista at cente-back.  Granit Xhaka and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are likely to combine at the base of midfield with Mohamed Elneny and Aaron Ramssey providing viable alternatives. Arsene Wenger may decide to restore Alexis Sanchez to the central striker role as Danny Welbeck and Oliveir Giroud further options.  Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott could keep their places elsewhere in the advanced midfield positions.
