PORTUGAL v AUSTRIA BETTING PREVIEW

Portugal only managed a 1-1 draw in the first round against Iceland. Fernando Santos' men ere in control of the game from the beginning with numerous attacks but Iceland got the equalizer in the 50th minute and defended that draw until the final whistle. Cristiano Ronaldo was particularly disappointing and will need to make a statement in their toughest group game to keep Portugal on route to topping the group.

Renato Sanches is likely to start at the expense of Danilo while Ricardo Quaresma will replace Joao Moutinho. This could see Portugal revert to a 4-3-3 formation. Boss Fernando Santos has many options in midfield with the likes of Rafa Silva, Adrien Silva and William Carvalho all pushing for a starting berth. In defense, Jason Fonte and Ricardo Carvalho are in contention for a place in the lineup alongside Pepe.

Austria came into these finals on the back of a hugely impressive record in qualifying as  they were one of four nations – along with England, Italy and Romania – who negotiated Euro 2016 qualifying unbeaten with an outstanding W9 D1 record. They were odds on favourite in their opener against Hungary but hugely underwhelmed in losing 2-0 in Bordeaux on Tuesday and will need an immediate response to kee their hopes alive.

Austria will be without Alexander Dragovic after he was sent off last time out. Tottenham defendere Kevin Wimmer is expected to replace him at the heart of defense with Watford centre-back Sebastian Prodl as alternative. Manager Marcel Koller also has a doubt over influential attacking midfielder Zlatko Junuzovic but he is expected to recover in time for the kick-off. Marc Janko overcame a back injury to start last Tuesday and he is expected to retain his berth.
