An opening day 1-0 success over England and a 0-0 draw against Italy have been enough to position Portugal top of Group B after two rounds. Prior to their goalless draw with Italy on Sunday, the Portuguese youngsters had won their last eleven consecutive matches in UEFA competition dating back to September 2013. They only need a point here to make the semifinal. Rui Jorge’s side could still reach the semis on goal-difference if they lose and Italy and England draw or, indeed, if Italy beat England.

Portugal have a clean bill of health with Ivan Cavaleiro available having been rested in the last match. Wholesale changes are not expected from the Portugal manager so we expect Pereira and Cavaleiro up-front with Bernardo Silva behind them and a strong midfielder trio with William Carvalho, Joao Mario and Sergio Oliveira.

Sweden followed up their 2-1 win over Italy with a narrow 1-0 defeat to England. They must win to assure themselves of a place in the semi-finals, though a draw could be enough if Italy beat England in the group's other match.

The Blagult have an identical situation with no injuries being reported. Head coach Håkan Ericson is expected to name his strongest XI as he has no fresh injury issues ahead of the match. Full back Alexander Milosevic is available after he missed the defeat to England through suspension.

Portugal are yet to concede a goal in this tournament while Sweden scored twice and conceded the same. This is the first meeting between the two nations at under-21 level in 11 years, the last result being a 3-2 victory to Portugal in a thriller.
