What happened in the first fight between Bivol and Beterbiev
The first fight between the two was an epic battle. Beterbiev won the decision and all six belts with scorecards of 115-113, 116-112 and 114-114.
Bivol’s camp decried the result as a robbery, with an official protest quickly lodged to the four sanctioning bodies over the scoring as they sought an immediate rematch.
Amyway, by the third round, it was evident that Bivol wasn’t accustomed to the intensity of the fight, which had an impact on his speed and punch count.
Whether due to fatigue or damage, he was the fading fighter in the championship rounds, easily giving Beterbiev the final three rounds of the fight.
Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol Preview
Artur Beterbiev, 21-0 (20 KOs) is currently the holder of the WBA, WBC, WBO, IBO, IBF & Ring Magazine belts after becoming the undisputed light-heavyweight champion with a controversial majority decision victory over Dmitry Bivol in their first fight during the Autumn. That win was his ninth consecutive world title defense since initially winning the IBF 175-pound belt in November 2017. And that was the first fight that went the distance, as Beterviev previously won his 20 professional bouts by knockout - including against notable opponents like Callum Johnson, Radivoje Kalajdzic, Oleksandr Gvozdyk, Joe Smith Jr., Anthony Yarde, and Callum Smith.
Dmitry Bivol, 23-1 (12 KOs), was ultimately handed his first career defeat by Beterbiev in the first match. He fought well behind his jab early in the first outing, pressuring Beterbiev and also scoring with counters when he backed up on an angle. In the 2nd half of the bout, Bivol began to back up in a straight line and not put forth any offense. Coming off the loss, Bivol's last win was a dominant TKO of Malik Zinad in June 2024. The biggest win of Bivol’s career so far was when he fended off the challenge of Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez in May 2022. Anyway, he has only one stoppage on his record since 2018.

Beterbiev vs Bivol 2 Betting Tips - Who wins and how?
Before their first fight, we expected Bivol to outmaneuver Beterbiev tactically and technically, but he couldn’t. He always held back, partly because his opponent was in phenomenal physical shape and has more power when he lands.
Bivol has elite boxing IQ, movement and fast hands, but this was not enough to win the first bout. How can he realistically change up his approach? Taking more risks against a puncher of Beterbiev’s power seems dangerous and ill-advised, so we expect him to try to outbox and outwork his opponent once again, hoping to get a more favourable response from the judges.
If the current champ shows up in the same condition - he is 40 years old - we believe he can take this rematch.
As far as we know, Beterbiev comes into this fight healthier than the first meeting as he had a problem to a knee.
As a result, we back Artur Beterbiev to win the bout. Since Bivol will be more inclined to take risk, we do not exclude a knockdown.
