Michael Van Gerwen vs Jeffrey De Graaf: Betting preview

Michael van Gerwen was given a stern test by Brendan Dolan in the third round on Saturday. The Dutchman lost the first set, but then went on a run of eight straight legs to take control of the match, won 4-2. It was not the best version of Mighty Mike but the three-time world champions managed to average a huge 118.7 in the fourth set. Prior to that, MVG whitewashed world number 89 James Hurrell (3-0) with a 94.85 average and 50% checkout percentage (9 out of 18).

Jeffrey De Graaf notably claimed the scalp of two-time world champion Gary Anderson in the first round. He produced a stunning display to oust the Flying Scotsman 3-0 on his 54th birthday, converting an incredible nine of his 12 double attempts. He booked his place in the third round where he came up against Filipino qualifier Paolo Nebrida (4-1), a milestone for the Swedish darter, who never before got this far at a ranking major at the PDC.

These two darters met at the Players Championship back in April 2024 and Van Gerwen won 6-3 a hard-fought match.
