Atletico Madrid vs Manchester UTD Betting Preview
Atletico Madrid are languishing in fifth place in La Liga standings, a whopping 15 points behind leaders Real Madrid, having already lost seven matches this season. Diego Simeone's men enter this match off the back of a 3-0 victory over Osasuna, after suffering a shock defeat to Levante last week. Surprisingly, the reigning Spanish champions have been defensively shaky, having conceded 34 goals in 25 games so far (Sevilla have conceded half the goals!). They also struggled to deal with Liverpool’s firepower in the Champions League, losing 3-2 at home in October and 2-0 in the reverse fixture at Anfield Road in November. They won just two of their six UCL fixtures against the Reds, FC Porto and AC Milan, but a 3-1 victory over the Portuguese outfit on the final matchday moved them onto seven points and allowed them to finish second in the section behind Liverpool.
Manchester United currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, four points clear of West Ham on the same number of matches (26). The Red Devils battled to a 2-0 win over Brighton last midweek and beat rivals Leeds United 4-2 at Elland Road on Sunday. In Champions League, topped Group F ahead of Villarreal and Atalanta - despite losing their first match in Switzeland against Young Boys - collecting 11 points from their six games. Ralf Rangnick's men are unbeaten in the last 8 away matches (W4 D4) but they have only kept two clean sheets in the process.
Best Odds
Diego Simeone's side are 8/5 favourites with Parimatch to win the first leg in the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Wednesday night. United are 43/20 chances with Unibet to come away with a first-leg lead. The draw is backable at 11/5 with Bet365.
Probable Line-Ups
Atletico Madrid (4-4-2): Oblak; Vrsaljko, Gimenez, Savic, Reinildo; Llorente, Koke, Kondogbia, Correa; Felix, Suarez
Yannick Carrasco is suspended while Daniel Wass and Matheus Cunha are out through injury. Both Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann are not 100% fit but the former is expected to partner Joao Felix Up front. With Thomas Lemar in doubt due to a suspected positive COVID-19 test, Marcos Llorente could start as left wing. Angel Correa should start on the otherside, with Koke and Geoffrey Kondogbia favourites for the central midfield berth over Hector Herrera. At the back, Felipe should get the nod over Josè Maria Gimenez while Sime Vrsaljko and Reinildo are likely to start as full backs.
Manchester United (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Pogba; Elanga, Fernandes, Sancho; Ronaldo
Edinson Cavani has not travelled with the squad to Spain due to a groin problem while Mason Greenwood is out due to a club suspension. Raphael Varane made his return from injury off the bench at Elland Road and is a candidate to feature from the off while Diogo Dalot is expected to return to the back four with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof making way. Up front, Bruno Fernandes will retain his berth as number ten behind Cristiano Ronaldo while Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga are expected to start out wide.

Atletico Madrid vs Manchester UTD Betting Tips
Both teams have been extremely inconsistent this term but Man UTD have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks while Diego Simeone's men have lost four of their last seven games across all competitions. Don't expect the hosts to control this game; they had just 38 per cent possession in Osasuna at the weekend.
As a result, we back Man UTD to win or draw. Given Atletico's poor defensive record this season, the both teams to score bet could be a good idea, while the 1-2 scoreline is our pick in the Correct Score market. As to goalscorers, keep an eye on Paul Pogba as the Frenchman is returning to play at his best.
