Juventus vs Manchester City is scheduled for an 8pm kick-off time on Wednesday 11th December, 2024 and is being played at the Allian Stadium in Turin (Italy).

After the goalless draw against Inter Milan at the Etihad and the two victories against Slovan Bratislava (0-4) and Sparta Prague (5-0), the Cityzens were demolished by Sporting Lisbon (4-1) and conceded three late goals to Feyenoord in a 3-3 draw. In the Premier League it is even worse: fourth in the standings, 8 points behind Liverpool, despite the Reds have a game in hand. Last Saturday's 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace means that Guardiola's team has won only one match out of their last 9 (a 3-0 home win against Nottingham Forest). Indeed, between the end of October and November 23, City suffered 5 consecutive defeats in all competitions (Premier League, Champions League and EFL Cup).

In addition to the long-term absentees Arkadiusz Milik, Juan Cabal, Nico Gonzalex and Gleison Bremer, Andrea Cambiaso will also miss the match against City. Douglas Luiz has recovered, but the former Aston Villa man will sit on the bench. In midfield, in fact, there will be Manuel Locatelli and Kephren Thuram, with Teun Koopmeiners moved in the number 10 position behind Dusan Vlahovic. Manchester City are struggling even more than Juve in terms of injuries. The English club will fly to Turin with only 12 outfield players from the first team, to which a lot of young players from the Youth team will be added. In fact, the visitors will be without the likes of Rodri, Mateo Kovacic,Phil Foden, Nathan Akè, John Stones and Oscar Bobb. Pep Guardiola, therefore, can't rotate his team and many players are showing signs of fatigue. Erling Haaland will lead the line, with Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku and Bernardo Silva behind him. In the middle of the park, Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne (who has recently returned from injury) are expected to start. Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias will be the central defenders, with Rico Lewis and Kyle Walker the starting full-backs. Ederson will return between the posts in place of Stefan Ortega-Moreno. The only "seniors" on the bench should be Matheus Nunes and Savinho.

It's a delicate match for both teams. Injuries have been a negative factor for both Juventus and Man City so far. The English will have only 12 outfield players and some of these are in precarious conditions (Walker, De Bruyne and Gundogan above all).
For the Bianconeri, therefore, it is a tasty opportunity to beat the English champions and make a big leap forward in the Champions League standings. If teams like Brighton, Bournemouth, Sporting Lisbon and Tottenham have managed to do it in the last month and a half, then Juve can easily do it too.
