PSG vs Liverpool Betting Preview
PSG only managed a 15th-place finish in the League Phase and reached the last-16 round by thrashing Ligue 1 rivals Brest 10-0 on aggregate in a thoroughly one-sided play-off tie that included a 7-0 win in the 2nd leg. Domestically, Luis Enrique's men lead the league with a 13 point advantage over 2nd place Marseille. They have already won the Trophee des Champions and advanced to the Coupe de France semi-finals. PSG are unbeaten in 22 matches (W19 D3) in all competitions and have won 18 of their last 19 games.
Liverpool finished top of the table in the new league phase, courtesy of 7 straight wins before a meaningless away defeat against PSV Eindhoven (3-2) in the final matchday. The Reds boast a commanding 13-point lead over faltering rivals Arsenal in the Premier League standings with just 10 games left to play this term, and will also play the Carabao Cup final this month. Anyway, Arne Slot's men have won just three of their last six matches, surprisingly losing 1-0 at Plymouth in the FA Cup and drawing 2-2 at Everton and Aston Villa.
Best Odds
Online bookies are showing favouritism to PSG, who are currently around 31/20 (2.55), as they are unbeaten since November. The visitors Liverpool are best priced at around 9/5 (2.80) to pick up a victory, while a draw pays at around 13/5 (or 3.65 with non-UK bookmakers).
Probable Line-Ups
PSG (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz; Barcola, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia
The hosts have no injury concerns heading into the first leg of this tie, with all of their key players available to play. Vitinha and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia were rested over the weekend and are expected to start here. In-form Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola are going to compelte the front trio, with Desire Doue providing a further option. Thiago Neves and Fabian Ruiz will anchor the midfield. Willian Pacho will be also restored at the heart of the backline, alongside Marquinho, with Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes as full backs.
Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz
Conor Bradley will miss the first leg against due to a hamstring injury. The right-back has joined Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton on the sidelines. Arne Slot is expected to play Luis Diaz as false nine, with Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo and Dominic Szoboszlai behind the Colombian star. Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch will start in the middle of the park, with Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott providing viable alternatives.
PSG vs Liverpool Betting Tips
PSG enter this clash riding a wave of 10 consecutive victories across all competitions, scoring four or more goals in six of those matches. They are dispatching domestic opposition with ease, but have struggled against European powerhouses, losing to Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich in the league phase.
Liverpool have won the League Phase and are dominating the Premier League. Anyway, they may not be hitting the same levels they did at the beginning of the year and have won just once in the last 4 away games (a 2-0 win at Manchester City).
They had a weekend off and will be fresher here, but we believe that PSG will earn at least a draw.
Hence we back PSG to win or draw (Double Chance) and PSG to win 2-1 in the Correct Score market.
Ousmane Dembele is scoring for fun in recent times, and the Frenchman is our pick in the Anytime goalscorer market.
