Huddersfield vs Nottingham Forest Betting Preview
After finishing 20th last season, Huddersfield have been the division’s surprise package. The Terriers ended the Championship season in third position, two points above Nottingham Forest. They head into the game in excellent form, having avoided defeat in their last nine matches. Huddersfield have won seven and drawn two of those games, including the play-off against Luton Town when they required a late Jordan Rhodes in the second leg at the John Smith's Stadium to prevail 2-1 on aggregate.
Nottingham Forest finished the regular season in 4th place, another big achievement after last year's 17th place. Manager Steve Cooper joined the club eight games in to the season with Forest marooned at the bottom of the league. Since then, they have accumulated 76 points from 38 games, the best return in the Championship regular campaign over that period. As to the Championship play-offs, after winning 3-1 the first leg, Forest only managed to beat Sheffield United on penalties to book their spot at Wembley.
Nottingham Forest won two of the three Championship and FA Cup meetings between the sides this term. They beat the Terriers away from home back in September 2021 but suffered a 1-0 defeat at the City Ground in December. The FA Cup match in early March saw Forest advancing to the quarter finals courtesy of a 2-1 home win.

The likes of Harry Toffolo and Pipa will start as wing backs with Lewis O'Brien and Jonathan Russel anchoring the midfield. Alex Vallejo, Ryan Schofield and Matty Pearson remain out through injury while Oliver Turton is doubtful.

Lewis Grabban and Max Lowe are both out but Steve Cooper has a strong squad to select from. Having proven his fitness with two substitute appearances during the playoffs, Keinan Davis could return in attack for Forest alongside Brennan Johnson. That would see Sam Surridge sitting on the bench. Philip Zinckernagel will start as number ten, while Jack Colback and Djed Spence will play as wing backs in a 3-4-1-2 system.
