Manchester City vs Liverpool Betting Preview
The matchup at London's Wembley Stadium is the second between the teams in six days. The top two Premier League teams played to a 2-2 draw in a crucial league fixture last Sunday. As a result, Manchester City mantained a one-point lead over the Reds in the Premier League standings. It was their second 2-2 of the season as the Anfield match, back on 30th October 2021, also finished with the same scoreline.
The two teams were also involved in the secnd leg of their Champions League quarter finals. Both defended their advantage from the first leg. Guardiola's men managed to earn a hard-fought goalless draw at the Wanda Metropolitano against Atletico Madrid (the Cityzens won 1-0 at Etihad) while Liverpool drew 3-3 at home against Benfica after winning 3-1 in Portugal.
Swindon Town, Fulham, Peterborough and Southampton have all been no match for Manchester City in this year's competition while the Reds have knocked Shrewsbury Town, Cardiff City, Norwich City and Nottingham Forest out of the tournament to reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

Probable Line-Ups
Manchester City (4-3-3): Steffen; Cancelo, Stones, Laporte, Ake; B. Silva, Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, Sterling, Grealish.
Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker both look set to miss out for the Cityzens. The former was substituted at the Wanda Metropolitano after a kick from Felipe, with the right back limping off few minutes later. Nathan Akè could deputise at right back, while Ilkay Gundogan is likely to replace the Belgian in midfield, where Bernardo Silva and Rodri should feature from the off. Ruben Dias has recovered from his injury but the Portugues is not expected to be included in the starting XI. The likes of Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish should from the front trio, with Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus biable alteratives. In goal, Pep Guardiola is likely to give cup goalkeeper Zack Steffen a runout in between the posts.
Liverpool (4-3-3): Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Mane.
Jurgen Klopp managed to rest many of his regular starters in midfield. Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are set for recalls to the backline. It remains to be seen if Caoimhin Kelleher will be entrusted with the gloves as Liverpool’s cup goalkeeper, or if usual No1 Alisson will return for the big showdown. Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara both came off the bench against Benfica and should start in the middle of the park, alongside Jordan Henderson. Up front, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz are in contention to partner Mo Salah and Sadio Manè.

Our Manchester City vs Liverpool Predictions
Liverpool could be much fresher than their opponents. While Guardiola's first XI left it all out on the Wanda Metropolitano turf (with De Bruyne and Walker picking injuries), Jurgen Klopp was able to give a good number of his key players a night off. Anyway, we expect another tough game. City and Liverpool couldn't be split at the end of 90 enthralling minutes last weekend and it might just require a penalty shoot-out to separate them on Saturday. The 1-1 could be the right Correct Score, but we won't be surprised if the match ends with a third straight 2-2 scoreline. As for the "To Qualify" market, we give Liverpool a slight preference.
