Arsenal vs Man UTD Betting Preview
Arsenal currently sit 2nd in the Premier League standings following back to back wins over Nottingham Forest (3-0 at Emirates) and West Ham (5-2 at the London Stadium) after the international break. The Gunners have already dropped far more points than they'd have liked at this stage of the season to trail table toppers Liverpool by 9 points. Anyway, they look completely different now Martin Odegaard is fully integrated back into the team after missing most of the season through injury. Since his return, Arsenal have also beaten Sporting Lisbon 5-1 away in Portugal, and they are now 6th in the Champions League standings.
Manchester United are unbeaten under new manager Ruben Amorim, as they have earned two wins and a draw so far since the Portuguese manager has been appointed. They enter this clash on the back of a 4-0 victory over Everton, with Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford scoring a brace each. Prior to that, the Red Devils drew against Ipswich in the league and beat Bodo/Glimt in Europa League. They are 9th in the Premier League table with a W5 D4 L4 record. Anyway, Man UTD currently boast the 2nd best defensive record with just 13 goals conceded in 13 matches.
In terms of direct encounters, Arsenal have won their last three Premier League games against Man United. They have never beaten the Red Devils in four consecutive league fixtures. At Emirates, the Gunners have won five and drawn one of their last six with Manchester United. The last three results of this fixture are 3-1, 3-2 and 3-1 to the hosts..
Best Odds
Arsenal are heavy favourites to win the match in front of their own fans at Emirates. A win for the Gunners is priced at around 4/9 (or 1.46 on non-UK bookmakers). The Draw can be backed at 4/1 (5.00) with the best football betting sites while Manchester United are around 13/2 (7.50) to upset the odds.
Probable Line-Ups
Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya, Calafiori, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Trossard, Saka, Havertz
The hosts will likely be without Thomas Partey, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu while Mikel Merino remains a major doubt. Gabriel is also a doubt after being substituted at half-time against West Ham. As a result, Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko are pushing for a start, with the Brazilian centre-back and Riccardo Calafiori eventually making room. In midfield, Thomas Partey is likley to return to the line-up at the expense of Jorginho for a fixture of this magnitude while Martin Odegaard will start again after a loing spell on the sidelines. Up front, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard continue to trade starts on the left. No doubts about Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz filling the remaining two attacking berths.
Man UTD (3-4-2-1): Onana; Shaw, De Ligt, Mazraoui; Dalot, Casemiro, Ugarte, Amad; Rashford, B. Fernandes; Hojlund
Man UTD will definitely be without Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo. Both players are suspended after picking up their fifth yellow card of the season last Sunday. Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof have been missing of late, meaning that Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui are likely to keep their places in the three-man backline. For the remaining place, Luke Shaw should get the nod over Harry Maguire. Up front, Rasmus Holund should get the nod over Joshua Zirkzee for this one, despite the Dutchman scored a brace against Everton. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford will support the lone striker. In the middle of the park, we wouldn't be surprised to see Mason Mount starting in place of Manuel Ugarte while Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot are expected to retain their berth as wing backs.
Our Arsenal vs Man UTD Predictions
Ruben Amorim has made a decent start to life as Man UTD boss but many weaknesses are yet to be addressed.
Arsenal have started to find their rhythm since the return of Martin Odegaard and have been almost faultless on their own turf, as they are unbeaten at home this season with 8 wins and 2 draws in all competitions.
As a consequence, we fancy the Gunners to pick up a crucial three points in this clash.
Both teams have found the net in five of the last six direct encounters in Premier League, and with many defenders injured or not 100% fit, this could be another game for "Both teams to score" backers.
Arsenal to win 2-1 or 3-1 are our bets in the Correct Score. As for player betting, Bukayo Saka to score or assist is another bet we recommend, as well as Marcus Rashford to have a shot on target.
