The North Londoners are unbeaten at the Emirates in the league, having won seven and drawn four so far.
Manchester City are in fourth place in the league table, six points behind Arsenal, following their 3-1 victory over Chelsea last week. In Champions League, Pep Guardiola's men endured a nervy night to scrape through in 22nd position with a 3-1 win over Club Brugge. They will face Real Madrid in this month's UCL play-offs. The win over the Blegian club means that the Cityzens have won four of their last five league games. Between November and Boxing Day, Man City suffered 6 defeats in 9 Premier League matches (W1 D2 L6) but they are slowly returning to fire all cylinders. The 4-2 loss at PSG in Champions League matchday 7 remains their only loss in the last 9 outings.
These two sides drew 2-2 in the first direct encounter earlier in the season, as John Stones scored a dramatic last-minute equaliser against 10-player Arsenal. In last seasons' three matches, the Gunners won league match at Emirates (1-0) and the Community Shield on penalties, while the Premier League game at Etihad finished with a goalless draw in March 2024. Kay Havertz will lead the line, flanked by Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, with Ethan Nwaneri providing a further option. The likes of Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice will anchor the midfield.

Pep Guardiola suggested that Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake and Jeremy Doku wouldn't recover for this clash, while Oscar Bobb is expected to make the bench. New signing Omar Marmoush will join Erling Haaland and Phil Foden up front, with Savinho and Jack Grealish providing further alternatives. In midfield, Ilkay Gundogan is likely to start alongside Mateo Kovacic and Bernardo Silva, with Matheus Nunes deployed as right back. Rico Lewis is another option. John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Josko Gvardiol will probably complete the backline, meaning the other new signings Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis will be benched. Between the stick Ederson is favourite over Ortega Moreno to feature from the off.
