Arsenal vs Tottenham Betting Preview
Arsenal remain in the hunt for the Premier League title and will have a great chance to close the gap to table toppers Liverpool, who managed to draw at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening. Anyway, Arsenal are struggling with fatigue in recent weeks. They crashed out of the FA Cup on Sunday after defeat on penalties to 10-man Manchester UTD, while their EFL Cup hopes are hanging by a thread following Newcastle’s 2-0 win at Emirates in the first leg of that semi-final tie.
Tottenham are without a win in four games in the Premier League. This string of poor results sees them languishing in 12th place after 20 games, raising concerns about Ange Postecoglu's managerial role. Spurs have been also involved in domestic cups in the latest few weeks. A win in the Carabao Cup semifinal first leg over Liverpool has been followed by needing extra-time to beat non-league Tamworth (3-0) in the FA Cup.
Arsenal and Tottenham last met in September, with Mikel Arteta's side emerging a 1-0 victors courtesy of a goal scored by Gabriel Magalhaes. Last year, this fixture ended in a draw (2-2) but the Gunners recorded a 3-2 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in April 2024. Heung Min Son scored three goals across last year's two direct encounters.
Best Odds
Arsenal are 2/5 (1.40) favorites with the top football betting sites and even crypto betting sites. The away win is backable at 15/2 (or 8.75 with non-UK boomakers). The best price for the match to finish in a draw is 23/5 (5.60).
Probable Line-Ups
Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya, Lewis-Skelly, Gabriel, Saliba, Timber; Rice, Partey, Odegaard; Trossard, Havertz, Martinelli
Gabriel Jesus sustained an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the match with Manchester UTD on Sunday and will miss the remaining of the season. Bukayo Saka is also sidelined, as well as the youngster Ethan Nwaneri. As a result, the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard will start upront. In midfield, Jorginho remains a doubt after picking up a knock. Thomas Partey will anchor the midfield alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard. At the back, Ben White, Riccardo Calafiori, and Takehiro Tomiyasu are ruled out until late January meaning that Lewis-Skelly will start as full back.
Tottenham (4-3-3): Kinsky; Porro, Gray, Dragusin, Spence; Sarr, Bissouma, Bergvall; Kulusevski, Son, Solanke
After making his Carabao Cup and FA Cup debuts in the space of a week, Antonin Kinsky is set to make his Premier League debut between the sticks. Rodrigo Bentancur is unavailable as he recovers from a head injury while Brazilian striker Richarlison is expected to make the short trip to Emirates after a prolonged spell out. Anyway, Dejan Kulusevski shuld partner Heung Min Son and Dominic Solanke up front, with Brennan Johnson providing a further option. Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Wilson Odobert, Ben Davies, and Destiny Udogie are all sidelined due to injuries.
Our Arsenal vs Tottenham Predictions
Considering the Gunners' injury struggles, their offensive inconsistency and the recent inability to overcome a Manchester United side reduced to ten men for over 70 minutes, Ange Postecoglu's men may sense an opportunity to exploit Arsenal's vulnerabilities.
We don't see Arsenal to win with a wide margin here, hence we back Tottenham +2 in the Handicap betting market.
As to correct scores, 2-1 is the most likely scoreline but we can't exclude a high scoring affair at Emirates, and we go for Arsenal to win 3-2.
Both teams to score is another attracting option as well as Dominic Solanke to have a shot on target with odds above EVS.
