Ruby Walsh’s Horse Racing Tips (Aintree Festival - Grand National Day)
Ruby Walsh announced his retirement from horse racing, a glorious career with well over 2000 wins, following a victory in the Punchestown Gold Cup, the feature event on day two of the Punchestown Festival. The Kildare man is one of the most experienced personality in this sport and he is back with his much appreciated horse racing tips.1:20 Aintree
"I’m with the novice Bill Joyce as Jeriko Du Reponet finds it hard enough to win races. Bill Joyce is progressive and he should hopefully be ahead of the handicapper. I’ll chance him for the O’Neill’s."

"Funiculi Funicula is stepping up in trip for Willie Mullins as he wanted further but it’s hard to say him or Kappa Jy Pyke are Grade 1 horses. I can’t see either of them beating Lulamba! Good And Clever could be the one to chase the Nicky Henderson runner home so I’ll back him each-way for Warren Greatrex with James Bowen on board."
3:05 Aintree
"Kitzbuhel is stepping up in trip and Paul Townend takes the ride for Willie. There are question marks over whether he’ll stay the three miles at five years old and he’s up against good horses in Teahupoo, The Wallpark and even Home By The Lee. I’m not sure he’s hard enough to beat Teahupoo right now so I’ll side with Gordon Elliott’s runner."

"My main pick is Perceval Legallois for Gavin Cromwell. He’s had some cracking runs and he won the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown last year. The yard are in great form too.
The Grand National has been the target for I Am Maximus and he has a good chance even though he hasn’t had a preparation as good as last year.
Minella Cocooner has a big chance. He was third in the Irish National last year and then he won the Gold Cup at Sandown. He’s had four runs this season and he’s come on for every run.
Meetingofthewaters didn’t quite stay last year but Danny Mullins thinks he can get the trip. Danny is giving me hope but I’m not too sold on whether he stays.
Fil Dor is worth a small mention too. He’s a huge price and he could run into the money and snatch a place for Gordon Elliott.
I’m with Perceval Legallois while Fil Dor is a big each-way shout. Minella Cocooner and I Am Maximus are my two of Willie’s runners."

"Leau Du Sud travelled well through the Arkle at Cheltenham and he had every opportunity to win but he didn’t. I’ll stick with the mare Only By Night who finished second behind Jango Baie that day. She’s improved with every run this year so I’ll keep her on side."

5:35 Aintree
"Green Splendour won well enough at Christmas but he was disappointing at Leopardstown in February at the Dublin Racing Festival. He’s looking good but I can’t see him beating El Cairos. He ran a cracker in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham behind Bambino Fever and I know the Moore’s really like him. The Aintree track will suit him too."
