Carlos Alcaraz ditched Daniil Medvedev in straight sets on Friday's semifinal. The Russian ended Alcaraz's first experience at Wimbledon in the second round of the 2021 tournament. Prior to the semifinal, the Spaniard swept aside strong players such as Nicolas Jarry, 2021 Wimbledon runner-up Matteo Berrettini and junior rival Holger Rune - dropping just two sets so far. In the first two rounds he eased past Jeremy Chardy and Alexandre Muller. Alcaraz is a clay specialist but he is rapidly improving on grass having won at Queen's leading up to this tournament.
