Tour De France Stage 21 Predictions: Winner, H2H Tips & Odds (Monaco > Nice - 21.7.2024)

Stage 21 of the 2024 Tour De France will not see the riders ending the race on the Champs Elysees in Paris. For the first time since 1985, the Tour de France will end with an individual time trial. The final stage, a 33.7 km ITT from Monaco to Nice, will shake the General Classification, although Pogaçar has virtually secured his Yellow Jersey. But who will win the stage? Read here our Tour De France Stage 21 predictions, latest odds, best bets on Winner, Top 3 & Head to Head, free bets and bonus codes!

TOUR DE FRANCE STAGE 21 BETTING PREVIEW

The final stage of this year’s Tour is unique in its time trial format, but also in the parcours itself.

Featuring climbs and ttechnical descending along the abrupt coastline between Monaco and Nice, this ITT will require pacing and bike handling much more than in an average time trial.

It starts in Monaco, setting off from the Port and going along the seafront to Monte Carlo.

There’s just 2.7km of opening roads before the main climb starts in earnest at La Turbie – an 8.1km ascent at 5.6 per cent.

From La Turbie the course heads downhill for a few kilometres to beautiful Eze Village, before making a right turn for the final uphill push to Col de Eze, a 1.6 kilometres climb at 8.1%.

After reaching the summit of the Col d’Éze on its steepest side the riders continue downhill towards Nice, where they will reach the famous Promenade des Anglais before returning to the city centre and finish on Avenue Jean Médecin.

Stage 21 Favourites

It should be a time trial for specialists with good climbing skills. Of course, having raced for three consecutive weeks, fatigue will be a key factor.

Remco Evenepoel, the world champion in the discipline, will be the odds-on favorite, according to the best betting sites in the UK and worldwide. The Belgian won the first time-trial earlier this month and have good chances to make the double. Evenepoel is second only to Pogaçar on long climbs but hid descending skills are questionable.

Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard and are both exceptional climbers and time trialists. The former could go for the stage win but would have to take unnecessary risks on the technical descent. The latter will be probably few seconds behind Pogaçar on the climb but can push on the descend in an attempt to take seconds from Evenepol - not the best descender - and defend his runner-up berth in the GC.

Who can trouble the Big 3?

Behind the leading three riders, we believe only Wout Van Aert can upset the odds. The Belgian has been surprisingly quiet in this Tour as he is preparing for the Olympics and his main task was helping his captain Jonas Vingegaard. Anyway, WVA can go full gas here - it would be a good test for his Olympics preparation and could be helpful for Vingegaard, who will be the penultimate rider to start the time-trial.

Other rider with podium ambition are UAE Emirates duo Joao Almeida and Simon Yates. They are in the top 10 of the General Classification although they have basically raced to support their captain Pogaçar.

Victor Campenaerts will surely do his best after winning his first TDF stage earlier this week. Kevin Vauquelin is another rider we expect to perform well on Sunday.

The likes of Bruno Armirail, Matteo Sobrero, Geraint Thomas, Matteo Jorgenson, Oier Lazkano, and Derek Gee are other riders that could compete for a Top 10 position.Stage 21 - Tour De France 2024
