RUSSIA v SLOVAKIA BETTING PREVIEW
Russia needed to rely on a last-minute Vassili Berezutski's goal in order to salvage a 1-1 draw against England in their opening match. The point keeps Russia well in contention to make the knockout stages, but they cannot afford any slip-ups in this clash. The Russians remain without a win in their last four across all formats and the majority of their issues came from their defense. Furthermore, they have only won three of their previous eight meetings with Slovakia, although they have won the last two.
Leonid Slutskiy could name an unchanged XI from the side that started against the Three Lions. Alexander Golovin may continue alongside Roman Neustadter in the centre of midfield while Kokorin, SMolov and Shatov will play behind the lone striker Artem Dzyuba. The only doubt is over the fitness of midfielder Denis Glushakov, although the Spartak Moscow midfielder came off the bench against England.
Slovakia were beaten 2-1 against Wales in their Group B opening game. Defeat here would almost certainly end their hopes of emerging from the group and they do have England to face last up. Jan Kozak's men beat sides of the calibre of Switzerland, Iceland and Germany in warming up for their first European Championship Finals and we are sure they will provide a stern test.
Few changes are also expected to the Slovakia side who played a good football against Wales. Adam Nemec could start in place of Michal Duris upfront while the offensive midfield trio will be formed once again by Hamsik, Mak and Weiss. Patrik Hrosovsky is also expected to make way for Viktor Pecovsky in the defensive midfield. The likes of Tomas Hubocan and Norbert Gyomber remains doubts.
