SCOTLAND vs SLOVAKIA BETTING PREVIEW
Scotland, who have won three and drawn one of their last four qualifying fixtures, could leapfrog the Slovakians into second place with a win on home turf. A hard-fought win over Slovenia was followed by an exhilarating 2-2 draw at home to England and the Tartan Army continued their good form with important victories over Lithuania and Malta in the last international break. They are a point behind Slovakia and level on points with Slovenia going into their final two matches, and that means 6 points from this double-header will be enough to secure a place in the play-offs.
Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths finally broke his international duck in the June qualifier versus England and is expected to lead the line in a 4-5-1 starting system. Matt Phillips, Robert Snodgrass and James Forrest will be the midfielders with attacking license while Darren Fletcher and James McArthur will be the playmakers. Celtic duo Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong have both withdrawn from the squad due to injury, while Matt Ritchie will also miss their remaining qualifiers.
Slovakia are 2nd in tle league stanings, five points behind England, and have earned nine points from the last available twelve in this group. They ran out 3-0 winners when they entertained the Scots a year ago and that 3-0 success was the start of a five-match win streak. They host minnows Malta in their final game, so it would be a surprise if they did not end the campaign in second.
Former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel will lead the team out at Hampden Park, alongside Inter Milan centre back Milan Skriniar. Robert Mak will support Adam Nemec up front while captain Marek Hamsik, Stanislav Lobotka and Vladimir Weiss will stat in midfield in a 5-3-1-1 formation.
