Oscar Tabarez may make more changes after an unconvincing team display last time out. We expect him to use the 4-4-2 formation here with Rodrigo Bentancur, Matias Vecino, Carlos Sanchez and Cristian Rodriguez in the middle of the park, with Nandez and De Arrascaeta viable alternatives. No changes are expected upfront, where Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez will lead the line. In defense, the likes of Diego Godin and Josè Gimenez will be probably flanked by Guillermo Varela and Martin Caceres.
Russia head coach Stanislav Cherchesov has no reason why he should change a winning formula. Artem Dzyuba is likely to keep his place up front, meaning that Fedor Smolov will sit on bench. With Alan Dzagoev still sidelined with a hamstring injury, Denis Cheryshev is set to feature from the off once again after scoring three goals thus far. He will join Aleksandr Golovin and Aleksandr Samedov in the offensive midfield trio.
Uruguay v Russia Starting Lineups
Uruguay (4-4-2): Muslera; Varela, Gimenez, Godin, Caceres; Vecino, Bentancur, Sanchez, Rodriguez; Suarez, Cavani
Russia (4-2-3-1): Akinfeev; Fernandes, Kutepov, Ignashevich, Zhirkov, Gazinskiy, Zobnin; Cheryshev, Golovin, Samedov; Dzyuba

Uruguay v Russia betting preview
Uruguay will be looking to get back to scoring ways
Uruguay have been far less emphatic in winning their two matches by a single goal to nil over Egypt and Saudi Arabia, so they need a victory to leapfrog Russia and win the Group A. La Celeste do need to find another gear heading into the knock-out stage though, and this clash could be seen as the perfect opportunity for them to step up their game. Anyway, they have lost just once in the last 12 months of football, confirming they are a tough nut to crack.Oscar Tabarez may make more changes after an unconvincing team display last time out. Russia roared to impressive wins with a +7 goal difference
World Cup hosts Russia won 5-0 and 3-1 their two games so far, respectively against Saudi Arabia and Egypt. They showed much more in the build-up play moving forward in the opening two contests but this match will be their first real stern test. Russia have won six of their eight meetings against Uruguay (D1 L1; includes games as the Soviet Union). Anyway, they have lost each of their last four World Cup meetings with South American sides, scoring just once.Russia head coach Stanislav Cherchesov has no reason why he should change a winning formula.
