WATFORD vs WEST HAM BETTING PREVIEW
Watford have lost each of their last three games in the Premier League, including just before the international break when they surrendered a 2-0 lead before missing a stoppage time penalty kick that would have secured a point in a 3-2 defeat against Everton at Goodison Park. The Hornets, who sit 9th in the Premier League standings, have failed to score in only three of their 12 competitive fixtures so far this season but only Everton have conceded more goals at home than Watford so far. Plus, they have conceded in each of their last seven competitive fixtures.
Troy Deeney serves the second of a three-match ban, with Andre Gray in line to cover in attack. Andre Carrillo may not feature after playing for Peru on Thursday morning, although Roberto Pereyra is not 100% fit. In defense, Younes Kaboul remains sidelined while Sebastian Prodl has made progress but remains a doubt. Kiko Femenia and Jose Holebas should keep their places in the full-back positions, with Daryl Janmaat the primary back-up. Tom Cleverley may drop back to partner Abdoulaye Doucoure at the base of midfield, with Etienne Capoue the main alternative. Craig Cathcart, Nathaniel Chalobah and Isaac Success are long-term absentees.
West Ham sacked Slaven Bilic and replaced him with David Moyes over the international break after a 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Liverpool. The Hammers are one point adrift of safety and boast the worst defensive record in the Premier League with 23 goals conceded in 11 fixtures. They have achieved two wins away from home this season in the Carabao Cup but none in the league. As to direct matches, West Ham have lost five of their last nine games against the Hornets, including a disappointing 4-2 home defeat at the beginning of last season.
David Moyes will be without Chicharito Hernandez for the trip to Watford, but Jose Fonte and Michail Antonio could both be available. Andy Carroll could start as the lone striker, with Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini completing the attacking midfield trio. Andre Ayew and Sakho provide other options in attack.
In defense, Pablo Zabaleta is available after missing the Hammers' last game through suspension while Winston Reid may miss out after playing for New Zealand on Thursday morning. The likes of James Collins and Sam Byram remain sidelined.
