WEST HAM v MANCHESTER CITY BETTING PREVIEW
West Ham enter this match on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Monday and now sit 13th in the league table with 22 points from 20 matches. Prior to that, they were also defeated at Leicester by a narrow 1-0 scoreline. They also lost to Manchester nited (4-1) in the EFL Cup quarter finals although earlier in that competition they knocked Chelsea out with a 2-1 home win here. Coming back to the FA Cup, the Hammers had a decent run last season by reaching as far as the quarter finals of the tournament.Slaven Bilic is without key players James Collins, Arthur Masuaku, Alvaro Arbeloa and Diafra Sakho while the likes of Andre Ayew and Cheikhou Kouyate are on international duty ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations. Anyway, Sofiane Feghouli's red card against Manchester United on Monday has been rescinded and he is available to play. Skipper Mark Noble is also struggling with a minor knee injury while Dimitri Payet looked tired last time out and may be given a rest. Simone Zaza is returning to Juventus and won't play the match.
Manchester City’s title challenged faltered in the last two months, and having bowed out of the League Cup this could be their best shot at lifting silverware in Pep Guardiola’s maiden campaign in charge. The Citizens are 3rd in the Premier League standings 7 points behind Chelsea. They continue to leak goals at the back, having now conceded at least a goal in 18 of their last 22 games in all competitions. Their only clean sheets away from home in that time came at West Brom and Hull City – two teams not renowned for being prolific goalscorers.
Fernandinho is suspended for Manchester City's next four matches after picking up his second red card. Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan are ruled out, while Leroy Sane remains a doubt. Sergio Aguero was surprisingly left out from the starting XI last time out against Burnley but the Argentine striker is expected to lead the line. The likes of Nolito, Yaya Tourè, Aleix Garcia and Raheem Sterling should start as offensive midfielders in a 4-1-4-1 formation.
