GERMANY U21 v SPAIN U21 BETTING PREVIEW
After a hard-fought 2-2 draw, Germany went 120 minutes against England on Tuesday night before progressing with a 4-3 triumph on penalties as Southampton forward Nathan Redmond missed the crucial spot-kick. The fatigue could be a huge handicap, also given the hectic schedule of the tournament. Prior to that, they beat Denmark and Czech Republic but suffered a 1-0 defeat against Italy in the third group stage fixture. The Germans are always tough to beat in a final, but their defence can be vulnerable, as England proved. This will be the fourth time Germany have faced Spain at U21 level, but they have lost their last two meetings with La Rojita.Centre-forward Davie Selke - who found the net against England - is now rated a major doubt for Germany and could be replaced by Felix Platte. The midfield pair consisting of Mahmoud Dahoud and Maximilian Arnold is expected to remain unchanged while Serge Gnabry, Max Meyer and Maximilian Philipp are likely to fomr the offensive midfield trio. In defense, Yannick Gerhardt, Marc-Oliver Kempf, Niklas Stark and Jeremy Toljan will feature from the off.
Spain U21 secured their spot in the U21 Euro Championship final courtesy of a 3-1 victory over 10-man Italy on Tuesday evening, with Saul Niguez bagging a wonderful hat-trick. The decision to rest all the big guns in the third group stage fixture paid its dividends. That was the 4th straight victory in four matches in the tournament as La Rojita previously saw off Portugal (3-1), Macedonia (5-0) and Serbia (1-0) in the group stage.
Few changes are expected from Spanish manager Albert Celades. The likes of Saul Niguez, Dani Ceballos and Marcos Llorente are expected to continue to orchestrate the front trio of Marco Asensio, Sandro Ramirez and skipper Gerard Deulofeu. The four man backline will be probably formed by Hector Bellerin, Jorge Merè, Cesar Vallejo and Jonny, meaning that the Spaniards could go unchanged from the starting XI that brushed aside Italy, despite a lot of quality players in their squad.
