PORTUGAL U21 v SPAIN U21 BETTING PREVIEW
Portugal showed they are serious contenders for the U21 Euros when beating Serbia 2-0 over the weekend, when Goncalo Guedes and Bruno Fernandes grabbed the goals late on in each half. The Portuguese continued their unbeaten streak that is now 15 matches long. Their last defeat came at the previous U-21 European Championship when they lost to Sweden in the final after penalty shootout.Bruno Varela will keep his place in goal ahead of Manchester United's Joel Pereira, while Kevin Rodrigues starts at left-back over Pedro Rebocho. Head coach Rui Jorge opted to start Fernandes and Ruben Neves in central midfield ahead of Renato Sanches but the Bayern Munich midfielder is expected to find a place in the starting XI this time. Diogo Jota and Guedes are in contention for the central striker role while Bruma and Iuri Medeiros will retain their spot.
Spain eased to victory against Macedonia in their opening match, showcasing both their individual and collective class in their 5-0 hammering over their opponents. Real Madrid Marco Asensio hit a hat-trick, with Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez and Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu also on the mark. But before we go overboard on La Roja, it's worth noting that Macedonia actually out-shot the Spaniards 24-11, including 12-6 when only taking into account efforts from inside the opposition penalty box.
Kepa Arrizabalaga has been given the nod ahead of Tottenham's Pau Lopez in goal and is likely to retain his starting berth. Dani Ceballos and Marcos Llorente are in contention for a place in midfield while Inaki Williams will hope to replace Sandro Ramirez as central striker. The likes of Marcos Asensio and Gerard Deulofeu will start agains as offensive wingers.
