SERBIA U21 v MACEDONIA U21 BETTING PREVIEW
Serbia enjoyed plenty of possession against Portugal but failed to really create anything other than half chances. They slumped to a 2-0 defeat against the Portuguese side without ever really putting up a fight. Serbia’s form in qualifying was solid, claiming two 1-1 draws against group winners Italy as they scored 27 times in 10 games before enjoying a 2-1 aggregate win over Norway in the play-offs.Srdan Plavsic may come into the starting XI at the expense of Aleksandar Cavric. Uros Djurdjevic will sperahead the attack with Andrija Zivkovic, Mijat Gacinovic completing the offensive midfield trio, and Nemanja Maksimovic and Liverpool Marko Grujic in the middle of the park. Vanja Milinkovic-Savic will play between the posts while the four man backline will be formed by Milan Gajic, Nemanja Antonov, Milos Veljkovic and Veukasin Jovanovic.
Although they were beat 5-0, Macedonia’s performance against Spain at times was really encouraging, especially in the final third. They actually out-shot the Spaniards 24-11, including 12-6 when only taking into account efforts from inside the opposition penalty box. It’s also worth remembering that prior to their defeat against Spain, Macedonia had kept five consecutive clean sheets as they won five on the spin – against Bulgaria Montenegro, Scotland (x2) and Northern Ireland.
Mevlan Murati will hope to come into a defence that conceded five to Spain, replacing Egzon Bejtulai. Teenagers Elif Elmas and Nikola Gjorgjev could both be in line for a start as offensive wingers behind the lone striker Viktor Angelov. David Babunki will play in the number ten role with Enis Bardhi and Boban Nikolov starting as central midfielders.
